Before you apply for passport renewal, first you have to create an account on the official Passport Seva website. To do that, follow these steps written below:
- After opening the official Passport Seva website, you have to click on “New User Registration”.
- Then you have to click on “Passport Office” and select your nearest passport office in Maharashtra.
- After this you have to enter your name, email ID, create a password and a unique login ID.
- Next you have to enter the given captcha code before clicking on “Register.”
- You will receive an email containing your account activation link which you have to click on and activate your account.
Now that the account is created, you have to follow the following steps to fill the passport renewal application:
- Open the official Passport Seva website and login with your unique details.
- Then choose the option that allows you to apply for a new passport or reissue passport.
- Then you’ll be taken to another page where you have to fill up the online application form very carefully.

Steps to schedule a passport renewal appointment in Maharashtra
Follow these steps written below to schedule an appointment for your passport renewal:
- Go to the official Passport Seva website and login with your unique user ID and password.
- Then find the “View Saved and Submitted Application” option before choosing “Pay and Schedule Appointment”.
- After you choose an appointment slot, make the online payment based on your application type between normal or tatkal and the number of pages in your passport booklet. You can pay through Credit/Debit Cards, SBI Bank Challan, or Internet Banking options.
- After your payment is done, click on “Print Application Receipt” that specifies your appointment number or application reference number. Currently, you’re not required to carry this receipt if you can show the confirmation message you received in your mobile number.
Please note that you must visit the concerned passport office on the scheduled date and time of your appointment with all the necessary documents. Or else, you will have to apply for another appointment again.
