Austria Visa Documents Required

1.One fully completed application form (in English or German language) and signed by the applicant.

2.An original passport fulfilling the following specifications:

(a) It must have a validity of at least three months after your intended date of departure from the territory of Austria. In the event that you are visiting several countries, the passport must be valid for 3 months after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States.

(b) It must contain at least two blank pages at the end

(c) It should have been issued within the past 10 years

(d) There must be no alteration or handwritten amendment regarding the data page

3.A copy of the applicant’s present passport showing the data pages, pages with evidence of previous visas, and travels etc.

4.Original(s) of previous passport(s) held by applicant or proof of loss of previous passports.

5.Two passport sized photographs which must be in accordance with the international standards as described by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). They must be in colour, and less than 6 months old.

6.Visitors must hold a valid permit to return to their home country such as valid Indian Residency Permit or return visa to India for citizens of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, or Sri Lanka.

Note: It is mandatory for Tibetans travelling on Indian IC (yellow Identity Certificate) to hold a Return Visa along with the stamped entry “No objection to return to India” (NORI) in the IC. This must be valid until at least three months after your intended return to India.

7.Visitor must hold travel medical insurance that should be valid in all the visiting countries or the Member States and must cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit in the Schengen region. The minimum travel insurance coverage per person must be EUR 30 000. Note: If visitors apply for a uniform visa for multiple entries, they must prove that they are in possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance which covers the entire period of their first intended visit. Additionally, the applicant must sign a statement declaring that they are aware of the need to be in possession of travel medical insurance for subsequent stays in Austria.

8.Cover letter which explains the purpose of the trip along with the itinerary including detailed location(s) and duration of stay in Austria.

9.Evidence of occupation / student status in home country:

• If applicant is employed, they must attach the salary certificates of the last three (3) months of their present occupation, employment contract and the company NOC to visit Austria.
• If the applicant is self-employed, they must submit the applicable CIN Certificate/ LLP certificate/ GST certificate/ Udhyog Aadhar Memorandum/Import Export Certificate etc. to prove the ownership.
• If the applicant is a student, they must submit a NOC from school or college

10.Applicants must submit their Income Tax Returns or Income Tax Acknowledgement or ITR-V from the last three (3) years

11.In the event that the applicant’s purpose of travel is other than business meetings (such as training, voluntary work or project work etc.):

• The applicant must obtain a permit issued by the Austrian Labor Market Authority “AMS”, in order to carry out the work. This permit will be given to the Austrian company inviting the applicant.
• Furthermore, the applicant must also obtain an Electronic letter of guarantee (called “EVE” or “GVE”) from the Austrian business issued by the appropriate regional office in Austria (in case of EVE) or by the Austrian Ministry of Interior (in case of GVE).

12.They must show proof of sufficient funds by submitting original bank statements of the last three (3) months and / or other funds available to applicant like pension etc.

13.Applicants must show proof of round-trip flight reservations and travel itinerary through airline or flight booking and proof of other means of travel within Austria/EU in case of onward travel to other Member States.

14.Applicant must provide proof of accommodation such as hotel reservation / letter from tour organizer and / or other appropriate documentation indicating the predicted travel plans within Austria / EU / Schengen Area.

15.For minor travellers:

• a minor who is being accompanied by one parent must provide an Original notarized No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the other parent, along with copies of both parents’ passports or valid ID proof.
• a minor travelling alone must provide an Original notarized NOC by both parents / legal guardians, along with copies of both parents’ passports or valid ID proof.

Note:

• Visa applications cannot be submitted more than 3 months prior to the intended date of departure.
• Processing of the visa application can take up to 15 working days after receiving the application.
• The Embassy cannot ensure a timely completion of the visa process in the event that an application is lodged less than 15 working days before departure.
• In individual cases, processing may take up to 30 calendar days in, especially when further scrutiny of the application is required. In cases where the authorities of the Member State are to be consulted or additional documentation is required, the processing period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 working days.
• In the processing of certain cases, the consulates are justified to request additional documents from the applicants. Furthermore, applicants may be called in for an interview by the Embassy, if deemed necessary.

The applicant must be aware that submission of incomplete or faulty documentation can be a reason for refusal of the application.
