Many Indians want to visit Kuwait for a variety of reasons, including employment, tourism, and business. All Indian passport holders can obtain an eVisa to visit Kuwait. The electronic visa system (eVisa) will allow foreign citizens to apply for a Kuwait visa online, eliminating the need to visit the embassy. It is the simplest and quickest method of obtaining your visa. When your visa application is approved, you will receive a copy of the visa in your inbox via email. As per the purpose of visiting Kuwait,Indians can apply for various kinds of visas to visit the country of Kuwait. Some of the types of visa available are:
1.Tourist Visa – Indian citizens can avail this type of visa only for the purpose for tourism. This may include sightseeing, vacationing, recreational activities, etc. in the country of Kuwait.
2.Visit Visa – This visa allows Indian citizens to stay in the country for up to 30 days after entry. This visa is valid for 90 days after it is issued. The Kuwait Embassy takes at least seven working days to process this visa. A Kuwaiti Company or Resident or a Resident foreigner (relative of the visitor) in Kuwait must sponsor the visitor for this type of visa. Indians can avail this visa through the office of Kuwait Airways or from the Kuwait Embassy in India. Visitors who are related to a resident foreigner can get a visit visa by submitting the following:
3.Work Visa/Permit – Indian citizens who wish to work in Kuwait are eligible to apply for a work visa or work permit to the country. A person holding a visit visa cannot work in Kuwait. Indians may obtain a work visa in the country as specified under Article 17 and 18 of the immigration regulations of Kuwait. In order to obtain this visa, a copy of the employee’s passport to get a work permit from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour Affairs must be submitted by the employer. The employer must obtain a No Objection Certificate from the General Administration of Criminal Investigation by submitting the personal details of the employee. After the NOC and work permit are received from the employer, the employee has to apply for an entry visa and provide documents such as PCC (Police Clearance Certificate), certificate of good conduct, employee’s passport, medical certificate, education certificates, etc. In Kuwait, to get security clearance employees have to submit their fingerprints.
4.Transit Visa – This visa can be availed from the Kuwaiti Consulate office or from a Kuwait Port Authority. This visa is given to Indian citizens who wish to travel from one country to another with a layover in Kuwait. It is valid for a period of 7days after issuance. Applicants must have a confirmed onward ticket and visa to the next destination in order to obtain this visa.
The normal processing time for a Kuwait visa is 20 working days. However, if it is pending with the Security Department, it may take a little longer. Visit Visa
An Indian citizen who wishes to obtain a Kuwait visit visa must be sponsored by a Kuwait company or by a relative that is a resident foreigner staying in the country. The visitor must have his visa processed and passport stamped at their nearest Kuwait embassy before travelling to Kuwait.
A faxed copy of the visitor’s passport can be used by the sponsor in Kuwait to obtain the visit visa to the country. A copy of the visa can then be faxed to the Indian visitor to enable him or her to travel to Kuwait. The sponsor can then meet the visitor at the airport with the original visa upon entering the country. In the arrivals section of the Kuwait Airport, there is a special counter where the sponsor can deposit the visa papers of the visitor. There is a similar special counter inside the immigration area from where the visitor must pick up his original documents. It is mandatory to carry the original documents in order to complete the entry formalities.
The processing time for a Kuwait visit visa is approximately 2 working days. Visit visas for business can be arranged by the hotel where the visitor will stay, and it takes around 7 working days.
Types
The different types of Kuwait Visit Visa and its requirements are given below:
1.Visit Visa for Business The applicant must have a sponsor to obtain a Kuwait Visit Visa for Business. The requirements for this visa are:
2.Visit Visa for Relatives- Citizens of other countries who are immediate family members and other relatives are eligible to visit family members currently living in Kuwait. There is no eligibility or criteria required for this visa. Visitors can definitely visit relatives with their Kuwait Visit Visa as long as they have a proof of relationship. The documents which must be submitted for a family visit visa are:
A fee of at least KD 450.00 per month must be paid if the sponsor works for the government. A fee of at least KD 650.00 per month must be paid if the sponsor works in the private sector.
3.Kuwait Multiple Entry Visit Visa In the event that Indian citizens hold a multiple entry visa to Kuwait, they will be able to enter the country as many times as they want during a one-year period. This type of visit visa to the country of Kuwait is mostly used for business sponsored foreigners. However, the applicant’s sponsor has to be the Ministry of Defence of Kuwait.

In most cases, it is not necessary for Indians to hold vaccination certificates to be granted entrance to the Kuwaiti grounds. However, if they have visited an area that has been infected by a viral disease such yellow fever or cholera, a vaccination certificate is mandatory to enter the country. These certificates act as a proof that the visitor is healthy and will not be transmitting any diseases to other citizens of the country. In the event that visitors come from infected areas, they may also be subjected to medical examination after a few days after their arrival to Kuwait, besides providing certificates. Additionally, the visitor also has to state the last country he visited to the Kuwait consulate. Kuwait is deemed to be a country free of infectious diseases and thus, an up to date medical check-up of the applicant is always welcomed by officials.
Upon his arrival in the country, a visitor has to fill an entry from at the airport in which he must specify where he will be staying during his visit. All the check-ins and check-outs of foreign visitors have to be recorded and informed to the Ministry of Interior by the Hotel Managers. Whenever a visitor decides to change his staying location in Kuwait, the immigration department has to be informed within 48 hours of the change.
All visitors who have entered Kuwait on a visit visa are not permitted to work in the country. Visitors have to obtain a residence visa and a work permit in order to do that.
Kuwait visit visas (and also entry permits) are valid for a period of 90 days after issue. After entry, visitors can stay in Kuwait for up to 30 days at a time .
Kuwait visit visa costs KD 3.00. The entry permits to the country are free. This value may fluctuate when converted to INR depending on the current value of the currency.
A holder of a Kuwait visit visa is permitted to stay up to a maximum of 30 days in the country. If you wish to extend your stay, you will have to pay KD 10.00 per day extended. In the event that your Kuwait visit visa expires, you will not be allowed to leave the country until you pay the total outstanding fine.
Visitors must pay all fines in the immigration department in Shuwaikh, Kuwait. The immigration office is only open during government working hours, and fines cannot be paid at the airport. Visitors can pay their fines in advance if they anticipate the length of their stay extension.
A foreign citizen may apply for a one-month extension of a Kuwait visit visa or temporary residence visa in Kuwait. The applications must be submitted to the Immigration Department before the expiration of the Kuwait visit visa.
Visitors have another solution for extending their Kuwait visit visa- they must to obtain a second visit visa into the country and schedule a day-long travel to Bahrain. Visitors can leave Kuwait in the morning and return in the evening; the length of flight from Kuwait to Bahrain is about 40 minutes. This journey costs a total of KD 45.00.
E-Visa
Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates are described as ‘GCC countries’. Indian nationals are eligible to apply for an E-Visa for travel purposes to Kuwait if they hold a resident card for a GCC country. The process for applying for a visa online is quick and straightforward. Given below are the requirements for applying for a Kuwait eVisa, as well as other useful information for obtaining your travel visa.

The Kuwaiti E Visa for travel purposes is valid for one month from its date of issue and cannot be used after this period. It is a single-entry visa to Kuwait. This means that a visitor cannot use this visa to enter Kuwait for a second time, even if it is within the 30 day window. In the event that a visitor wishes to stay in the country for a longer period of time, it is necessary to apply for a Kuwait visa extension. There are many different ways to extend your Kuwaiti visa. The application for extension of Kuwait visa can be quickly completed from outside the country. However, if the applicant is still in Kuwait, the process of extension of visa is more complicated.
