In the event that a visitor wishes to stay in the country for a longer period of time, it is necessary to apply for a Kuwait visa extension. There are many different ways to extend your Kuwaiti visa. The application for extension of Kuwait visa can be quickly completed from outside the country. However, if the applicant is still in Kuwait, the process of extension of visa is more complicated.

1.How to get a Kuwait tourist visa extension?

It is more straightforward to apply for a new original visa to Kuwait than to get an extension for a travel visa. Before their visa expires, visitors can apply for a one month extension of the Kuwait online visa by submitting an application to the Immigration Department in Kuwait. It is easier to apply for a Kuwaiti Visa extension from outside the country. One of the ways to do this is to leave Kuwait and fly to Bahrain, obtain a Kuwait visa renewal, and then return to the country. The flight to Bahrain is only 40 minutes long and it is possible to fly to Bahrain and back again in a single day. In the event that you stay beyond the 30 day validity of your visa without obtaining a Kuwait visa extension, you will have to pay a fine of KD 10 (approximately USD 33) per day of overstay. You will not be permitted to leave the country until you pay the total outstanding fine. Visitors must pay all fines in the immigration department in Shuwaikh, Kuwait. The immigration office is only open during government working hours, and fines cannot be paid at the airport. Visitors can pay their fines in advance if they anticipate the length of their stay extension.

2.How to apply online for a Kuwait tourist visa extension?

Online extension of a Kuwait visa is only possible if you are outside of the country. The Kuwait visit visa extension procedure is as quick and simple as the initial application, if you are. The procedure is more or less exactly the same as that of applying for a new E Visa, except for a couple of small differences in the visa application process. On the form, when you are asked to indicate whether you have previously been to Kuwait, you must select ‘yes’ when prompted. Additionally, in another part of the application form, you will be asked to provide the reference number of your previous Kuwait tourist visa, which you must enter. The process of extending a Kuwait visa online is often quicker than applying for an original application as the screening process has already been completed by the officials previously.

3.What happens if I enter the dates of my trip incorrectly on the application?

In the event that you have entered the dates of your trip incorrectly on the application and, as a consequence, your visa expires before you wish to leave Kuwait, you will need to apply for an extension of your Kuwait eVisa. Similarly, if the visitor postpones or changes the dates of any trip, they will be required to renew the visa. Furthermore, if you have provided any incorrect information on the approved Kuwait visa, you will also need to go through the renewal process to obtain a Kuwait visa with the correct details.
