While applying for passport in Bangalore, you need to choose the category on the basis of age. The categories are :
Adult passport: Indians above 18 years of age can apply for adult category of passport .
Minor passport: Indians below 18 years of age are eligible to apply under minor category. The minor must have a separate passport as per the Indian passport act. There are two categories of minor passports based on the validity of the passport, i.e.
Validity of Indian passport
An adult passport is valid for the period of 10 years. Minor passport is valid for 5 years or till the minor attains 18 years of age, whichever is the earliest.
