  • Identity proof: The identity proof of both the groom and the bride. For this purpose, you can present your Aadhar card, election card, or passport, or any other legal identity document.
  • Birth proof: The birth proof of both the groom and the bride. For this purpose, you can present the birth certificate, school leaving certificate, mark sheet and pan card.
  • Photographs: 8 passport sized colour photographs of the bride and the groom each.
  • Witnesses: Two witnesses from each side of groom and the bride. Each of them must have aadhar card, election card and passport as a proof.
  • Affidavit: you must present an affidavit if the parents from both sides cannot be present at the time of the marriage. The affidavit will be arranged by the Arya Samaj itself.
  • Divorcee: in case any of them had a marriage before and then separated, then he/she should submit the legal divorce documents related to them.
  • Widow: in case the one of the partner is widowed, then the death certificate of the former spouse must be submitted.
  • Foreign citizenship: When a marrying person is a foreign citizen or holding a valid foreign passport or is having foreign residential address, then the certificate of the present marital status of the person/ No impediment certificate/ NOC from concerned embassy and valid Visa must be presented.

Procedure for Arya Samaj Marriage Registration

Step 1: Book an appointment at the Sub- divisional magistrate’s office. This step takes at least a period of 14 days. So it is important to start this process before the marriage takes place.

Step 2: When you finalise your marriage booking, you have to make an advance payment to the Arya Samaj Marriage office. The advance payment depends from place to place. You can pay the Arya Samaj Marriage Fees in any method i,e. through cash, net banking, etc.

Step 3: Fill in the registration form.

Step 4: Submit all the proofs and documents needed (mentioned above).

Step 5: Submit the two passport sixed photographs of the bride and the groom along with a photograph of the marriage. You can also bring the invitation card if you wish to.

Step 6: As mentioned earlier, ensure that there must be two witnesses each side. They have to be physically present to sign the form on that day. Remember, the attestation by a gazetted officer is mandatory.

Step 7: At last, when all the formalities are done, the magistrate’s office will grant the marriage certificate, which is recognised as legally valid by the court.
