Schedule appointment for German Visa

You can schedule appointment with VFS Global for Schengen or any other type of German visa easily.   VFS is only responsible for collection of visa applications and returning your approved visa. The sole decision to approve or reject your application rests with the German Consulate/Embassy. Vfs global doesn’t authorize anyone outside of their office for visa processing.  Please apply for German visa 3 months prior to your travel date. 

If anyone is unable to come to a VFS centre, the visa application collection can be done at their home. Book an appointment now at Visa at Your Doorstep (vfsglobal.com). Just choose your destination nation as “Germany”

How to Schedule a German visa appointment?

Before taking a visa appointment, please complete the German visa application at VFS website online. Thereafter, you need to book a German visa appointment with the nearest vfsglobal visa application centre at their official website.

  1. Visit Welcome to VFS Global | vfsglobal
  2. Click on “Book Now” under “Book an appointment” heading.
  3. Select orange “Book now” button.
  4. Click on “I don’t have an account” to create a new account for booking a german visa appointment. Type in your desired password, email ID and click on the check box till a tick appears. Then, click on “Register”. 
  5. Repeat the process from the first and login with your credentials. 
  6. Fill up the required details. Select your nearest vfs centre location. Book an appointment slot by selecting the date and time on the calendar. 
  7. The system will generate an ARN and the German visa application form. Download it and print it out.
  8. Visit the vfsglobal centre for visa application submission, verification of documents and other matters on the day you scheduled your appointment. Go 10 mins early.

What are the rules of a German visa appointment?

Please remember that for Schengen visa applications: –

  1. Cancellation of appointment is not allowed
  2. Appointment can’t be rescheduled after a appointment date has been given
  3. Visa applications have to be submitted manually at the VFS centre. 
  4. Appointment is only when your name and passport number matches with your travel document.
  5. Paying the fees doesn’t guarantee an appointment 
  6. All fees are non refundable and payable in US Dollars. Fees is subject to change as per the foreign exchange rates. 
  7. Passports should be valid for at least 6 months.
  8. Consulate will review your appointment within 48 hours even for approving your appointment.

You can track the waiting time for your German visa appointment at Appointment Verification | VFS Global. Just enter your Application Reference Number (ARN) given in the German visa application and your passport number. Then, click on “Submit”.

What are rules we should follow for attending a german visa appointment in the German Consulate/Embassy?

Indians visiting the visa or consular section of any German Consulate or Embassy in India for attending a German visa appoinment and interview have to follow certain regulations. They cannot carry the following items:

  1. any kind of electronic device (example: - mobile phones, cameras, tabs)
  2. dangerous objects (especially knives/weapons)
  3. bags and luggage, umbrellas
