  3. Keftedes: It is a kind of meat ball. The word “kufte” means ground meat in Persian. This is the origin of the name of this dish. But in Greece keftedes are not only made with meat but also with tomato fritters, zucchini fritters and fava-yellow split peas.
  4.  Stifado: In the 13th century Venetians brought this cuisine into Greek platter. Stifado is prepared with all types of meat, rabbit and beef. But octopus is also used as an ingredient. A mouthwatering vegan stifado version can be prepared with mushrooms and chestnuts.
  5. Melitzanosalata: Melitzanosalata is  made with roasted brinjals. After roasting it is smashed and then olive oil, vinegar (or lemon), garlic and parsley are added with it. It is a kind of Greek baingan bharta.

  1. Souvlaki: Souvlaki is made with little bits of meat either pork or chicken flame broiled on a stick with a layer of yoghourt and  garlic. covered by warm pita bread, decorated with tomatoes, onion, and fries, it is served.

  3. Gournopoula: It is made of roasted piglet. After mixing salt and oregano   in the belly, the piglet is placed on a spit.
  4. Antikristo: this is a traditional food of Crete.  Here A young lamb  is cut into four pieces. Then after mixing the salt it is placed on big wooden skewers that are arranged around the fire in a circular formation.
