Who Needs to Pay Road Tax in Rajasthan?

- Pay applicable road tax from the day of entry into Rajasthan
- Re-register in Rajasthan if staying long-term
Note: Non-payment of tax beyond the 30-day grace period can lead to penalties, including fines or vehicle seizure under Section 11 of the Rajasthan Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1951.

For Rajasthan road tax payment process online, you can follow these steps:
- Visit the official Parivahan Sewa website.
- Navigate to the “Vehicle Related Services” section and click on “Other Services.”
- Select “Tax and Fee” from the list of services.
- Choose the state as Rajasthan from the dropdown menu.
- Select “Vehicle Registration Number” as the option for tax payment.
- Enter the vehicle registration number and click on “Proceed.”
- On the next page, you will see multiple services. Choose “Pay Your Tax.”
- Enter the last 5 characters of the chassis number and click on “Verify Details.”
- Review the information about the latest tax details displayed on the screen.
- A table will appear with the taxes you need to pay and relevant details.

- Click on the “Pay Tax” option.
- A popup window will appear showing the information about your vehicle. Review the details and click on “Confirm.”
- Select a payment gateway from the available options and accept the terms and conditions. Then click on “Continue.”
- To make online payment for the road tax in Rajasthan, you can use E-Banking, payment gateway and credit and debit card.

To make an online payment for road tax in Rajasthan at checkpost, follow these steps:
- Visit the Parivahan Sewa Website. Go to Vahan Parivahan. GOV
- Select your State. Choose “Rajasthan” from the drop-down menu.
- Click on “Online Services” and then “Vehicle Related Services.”
- Select your RTO in Rajasthan. You might need to log in or register.
- Select “Border Tax Payment.”
- For general tax payment, select “Pay Your Tax.”
- For temporary movement across state borders, look for “Border Tax Payment” under “Checkpost” Services. Here, you would select your visiting state as Rajasthan and then choose the service name (e.g., “VEHICLE TAX COLLECTION (OTHER STATE)”).
- Enter Vehicle Details. Provide your vehicle’s registration number and other required details (chassis number, etc.).
