How to apply for Passport Application in Kolkata

Below is the step-by-step process for online passport application in kolkata: 

  1. Visit the Passport Seva portal and click on the register now button.
  2. Enter the details and select the passport office where you want to visit.
  3. After filling in all the details, enter captcha and click on the register button.
  4. Log in and click on Apply for Fresh Passport / Reissue of Passport. Fill in all the required details and click Submit.
  5. Go to View Saved/Submitted Applications and click on Pay and Schedule Appointment.
  6. Pay the applicable fee, schedule your appointment, and print the fee receipt.
  7. You will receive SMS confirmation with your appointment details at the selected passport office.
  8. After completing the online process you need to go to the regional passport office in Kolkata regarding your appointment. Carry all required documents with the application receipt.
  9. After the visit to the passport office and the police verification, you will receive the passport in a few days.

Documents Required for Passport Applications (Normal Mode)

The list of acceptable documents for adult and minor passport applications is almost the same. Here is the list of acceptable documents for both adult and minor passport applications:

For Adults

  2. Proof of Date of birth 
  3. Supporting document for ECRN/Non-ECNR category passport

For Minors

  1. Proof of Current address
  2. Proof of Date of birth 
  3. A declaration by parents as per Annexure D

  11. Active Bank Account photocopy (last 6 months)
  12. First and last passport copy of parents (For Minors only)

Proof of Date of Birth (Any one)

  1. Birth Certificate provided by Municipal parties or relevant government authority body
  2. School leaving certificate
  3. Insurance bond by LIC/Insurance provider mentioning DOB
  4. Declaration by orphan authority/Child care authority

Note for Minor:

Applicants must carry copy of their parent’s passport to the Passport Seva Kendra.

Documents Required for Tatkal Passport

There are two types of passport applications: Normal and Tatkal. Both are similar in nature. But, the Tatkal passport fees are bit higher. Below are the documents required for a Tatkal passport application.

    My Passport Application Status pending ” Application submitted along with all documents and applicable fees” for one month. I have completed my police verification process on 8th March. But still there’s no response.
