NOC cancellation

If you have taken your vehicle NOC from RTO and later you changed your plan or it was issued for wrong place , then you need to cancel this NOC. Its 2 stage process :

Get Non utilization certificate or non-migration certificate from the RTO for which NOC was issued
Submit the RC, NOC and non utilization certificate to the parent RTO.

?Lets assume you have taken NOC from Mumbai to Hyderabad . Now you want to cancel this NOC. In this case you will have to get Non migration certificate from Hyderabad and then cancellation of NOC will be done in Mumbai.

1. Can I get NOC online in Maharashtra?

Yes, you can apply for NOC for vehicle in Maharashtra online through faceless facility. It is available if you can do Aadhar authentication

Following are the steps for NOC for my car in Maharashtra :

Select ‘Vehicle related Services’
Select ‘State’ and input the ‘RTO number’, then click ‘Proceed’

Enter your vehicle details as a Vehicle Registration No. and the last five characters of chassis number

2. How much time will it take for NOC?

The complete process for vehicle NOC takes approx. 1 month time. However this time may vary from RTO to RTO. To know the exact procedure time in the particular RTO, consult the concerned RTO.

3. Why is NOC required for a bike?

If you are shifting your bike from one state to another, bike NOC from parent RTO is required. NOC for bike is no objection certificate from the RTO. It signifies that there is no outstanding tax dues, pending challans or crime incident is there.

4. How long car NOC is valid in Mumbai?

Vehicle NOC issued from RTO never expires . It is valid till we re-register it in the new RTO.

NOC for vehicle should be submitted to the new RTO within 30 days from the date of issue NOC . Beyond 30 days there is late fine when you will go for re-registration of vehicle.

The penalty amount for car is Rs. 500 per month. For bike penalty is Rs. 300 per month.

5. I am transferring my vehicle from Bangalore to Mumbai which is on loan from bank. Is it necessary to repay full loan amount to get NOC from RTO

NOC from bank is required if vehicle is hypothecated to bank and you are applying for vehicle NOC from RTO.

You have 2 options in this scenario :

Either you can repay complete loan and remove hypothecation
Or you can get loan continuation letter from the bank

6. What is the procedure to transfer two wheeler from Mumbai to Bangalore?
