Types of Visa
There are two main types of Greece visas for Indians available. They are:
Type C Schengen visa is mainly for those individuals who wish to visit and/or stay in Greece and other Schengen countries for 90 days or less. The visa will be valid for a period of 6 months. The 90 days that the individual can spend in these countries can be split over the 6 months. Under this category of visas, depending on the purpose of travel, the documents required may differ. The purposes can range from tourism, business, study, cultural or sports reasons, for medical treatments, transit to another country, and even seamen.
Type D Schengen visa is for those individuals who wish to be in Greece for more than 90 days. The purpose of this kind of visa also varies. The purposes can range from participation in religious, scientific, or cultural events, to work, long term studies, research, or even family reunions.
If the applicant has a diplomatic, service and/or public affairs passport, they can directly submit the visa application at the visa department of the Embassy/Consular Office in New Delhi.

Visa Processing Time
In light of the rapid increase in visa applications, the processing of a Greek visa for Indians will take a minimum of 22 days if you are submitting the documents to the New Delhi Embassy. If you are submitting it to different visa application centers, it will take 27 days.
Visa Tracking
You can track your visa using this website. Enter your Visa Application ID in the first box and the passport number in the latter box. Click submit and you will be redirected to a page which shows the current status of your visa application.
On the same website, you can track when your passport will be ready for collection. When your passport is ready for collection, you can visit the visa center. The payment receipt which was given to you when you submitted your documents for your visa has to be given to the individual at the counter to get your passport back. Along with this, you also need to carry your official ID. The passport collections and visa application submission times are all mentioned here. You can also authorize someone to collect your passport for you. For someone else to collect the passport on your behalf, you will also need fill and sign this form and ask the authorized individual to bring the payment receipt, their ID and a photocopy of their ID, and the applicant's ID.
