Eligibility criteria for Hong Kong PAR

  1. Indian residents are required to fill the Pre- arrival registration form completely. 
  2. Indian residents are allowed to stay in Hong Kong for not longer than 14 days. 
  3. Indian residents must have a passport validity of at least 6 months.

PAR is not applicable to Indian citizens if he/ she have the right to land or abode in Hong Kong. They have permission to stay in Hong Kong for residence, employment, or study. 

If the immigration requirements are met correctly, an Indian citizen belonging to various categories can visit Hong Kong without a pre-arrival registration:

  1. An official passport holder   
  2. A diplomatic passport holder
  3. A valid Hong Kong travel pass holder
  4. Someone who has an entry visa for HKSAR
  5. A holder of the United Nations Laissez Passers, who are coming or transiting to Hong Kong for an official purpose
  6. Enrolled successfully for the e-channel service as a frequently visitor  

Note: An Indian resident who is a member of the operating air- crew, sea- crew or seaman can enter into Hong Kong without a pre- arrival registration, subject to the normal immigration requirements being met. 

An Indian citizen must apply for a visa to the immigration division if he or she:

  1. Wants to visit Hong Kong and stay there for not more than 14 days.
  2. Intends to come to Hong Kong for employment, study, to book a residence, etc.

For a business visa:

  1. A duly signed visa application form with complete and correct details of the applicant. 
  2. A visa application for entry into Hong Kong
  3. Copy of the sponsor business or company registration certificate
  4. A copy of the invitation letter from the sponsor
  5. a cover letter that states the applicant’s name, stay schedule, current designation, journey experience, etc.
  6. A copy of the applicant’s financial statements, which could be salary slips, bank statements, tax receipts, etc. 
  7. A copy of the hotel booking
  8. A copy of the transportation document, which could be for the flight itinerary
  9. A copy of the passport book containing the first and last pages. 

For a family visit visa:

  1. A duly signed application form, that includes correct information about the applicant. 
  2. A copy of the letter that states the applicant’s name along with the journey schedule
  3. A copy of the certificate that states the proof of relationship with the family member he or she is going to visit in Hong Kong. This can be a photocopy that shows the spouse's or parents name, a birth certificate, or a marriage certificate. 
  4. A copy of the applicant’s financial statements, which could be salary slips, bank statements, tax receipts, etc. 
  5. A copy of the passport book containing the first and last pages. 
  6. A copy of the transportation document, which could be for the flight itinerary

  5. A copy of Hong Kong’s residential proof, which could be phone bills, electricity bills, lease agreements, etc.

How To Apply

Apply for Hong Kong PAR online

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Immigration Department of Hong Kong. 

Step 2: Click on “Online Services” and choose “Visas and Entry Permits." 

Step 3: Choose “Indian Nationals” from the “Other online services” option.

Step 4: On the new page, scroll down and click on “Pre-arrival registration for Indian Nationals”.

Step 5: A new website will open on the screen. Click on the declaration and start.

Step 6: “Above Reader 7 or above” and “printer” is required to proceed with pre-arrival registration. Click on "Continue. 

Step 7: Again, click on "Continue" on the next page. 

Step 8: Read the eligibility criteria and click on “Confirm & Continue”.

Step 9: On the next page, the form is divided into 3 steps: input registration details, confirm registration details, and acknowledge the result of registration.

Fill in the form carefully with all the details that exactly match your passport. The most important part of the entire process is Part H, the identification question. Answer the question honestly, as it will be required while taking a printout of the pre-arrival registration form.
