Types of Passport Services and Fees in India

Passport fees in India depend on three main factors:

For Tatkal applications, you must pay the normal passport fees online first. The extra Tatkal charge of ₹2000 is paid in cash at the PSK.

Rebate in Passport fees

For fresh Passport application, a rebate of 10% on basic Passport fees is given to the following age categories of minors and senior citizens :

• Minor applicants (age <= 8 years)
• Senior citizens (age > 60 years).

If you are applying for passport renewal, passport application fees will depend on age category such as adult, minor. In minor passport, there are two age categories i.e. below 15 years and between 15 to 18 years. Fees for them are given separately. Also charges for normal passport and Tatkal passport will be different.

How to pay application fee for passport in India?

You can pay passport application fees online. All you have to do is go to the official website of passportindia.gov.in and follow these steps.

• Log in using existing user account on passport seva official website .
• Click on view saved/submitted application
• Click on pay and schedule appointment
• Select online payment
• Select appointment for preferred PSK
• Verify details and redirect to payment page

Paying passport fees using SBI challan

If you choose the challan option, go to your nearest SBI branch and pay the amount and collect the receipt. After 2 days of challan payment, check for payment status. if it shows ‘success’, you can book appointment for PSK visit.

• Fees are non-refundable, so verify all details before payment.
• You cannot reschedule your appointment more than twice with the same ARN.
• Check eligibility criteria before paying higher fees.

Yes, you can reschedule your appointment after successful online payment for 2 times in a year under normal passport application.

For SBI internet banking, you don’t need to pay extra charges. But for debit/credit card payment, you have to pay 1.5%+service tax. bank charge additionally.
