  1. Visit the Official Parivahan Sewa Portal: Go to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways’ Parivahan Sewa website:
  2. On the homepage, look for “Online Services” and then select “Vehicle Related Services.”
  3. Choose “Haryana” from the list of states. Then, select your respective Regional Transport Office (RTO) or registering authority from the dropdown menu. Click “Proceed.”
  4. On the next screen, click on “Pay Your Tax.”
  5. Enter your vehicle’s registration number (e.g., HRXXAB1234) and other required details.
  6. After verifying your details, you will be directed to a secure payment gateway.
  7. Select your preferred payment method (Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI) and complete the transaction.
  8. After successful payment, download and print your payment receipt for your records.

There are different Haryana road taxes on different vehicles depending on various factors such as the type of vehicle,  its model, and usage. There are 3 categories in which the road tax is imposed. These 3 categories are:-

  1. two-wheelers.
  2. four-wheelers.
  3. commercial vehicles.

So, we will discuss all these categories carefully.

1. Road Tax for Two-Wheeler Vehicles

  • For mopeds weighing less than 90.73 Kg: ₹150 (Fixed amount)
  • For vehicles with an ex-showroom price up to ₹75,000: 4% of the vehicle’s cost.
  • For vehicles with an ex-showroom price above ₹75,000 and up to ₹2 Lakhs: 6% of the vehicle’s cost.
  • For vehicles with an ex-showroom price above ₹2 Lakhs: 8% of the vehicle’s cost.

2. Road Tax for Four-Wheelers

  • For vehicles with an ex-showroom price up to ₹6 Lakhs: 5% of the vehicle’s cost.
  • For vehicles with an ex-showroom price above ₹6 Lakhs and up to ₹20 Lakhs: 8% of the vehicle’s cost.
  • For vehicles with an ex-showroom price above ₹20 Lakhs: 10% of the vehicle’s cost.

3. Road Tax for Commercial Vehicles

Commercial vehicle road tax involves periodic payments (e.g., quarterly) and can vary significantly based on factors like seating capacity (for passenger vehicles) or laden weight (for goods vehicles). Here are some common examples of quarterly road tax rates for passenger-carrying commercial vehicles (excluding driver):

  • Up to 4 seats: ₹600 quarterly
  • Between 4 to 6 seats: ₹625 quarterly
  • Between 7 to 12 seats: ₹1450 quarterly

Important Note for Commercial Vehicles: The specific rates for commercial vehicles are highly dependent on detailed classifications. 4. Road Tax for Vehicles Registered Outside Haryana (Re-registration):

Procedure for Re-registration from another state:

  • Get NOC from the RTO where the vehicle was originally registered.

  • Pay the applicable pro-rata road tax as calculated by the Haryana RTO, along with re-registration fees
