Know the passport application fees for passport online applying

36 pages passport booklet with 10 years of validity 

• Normal Passport: ₹1500
• Tatkal Passport (fast): ₹3500

60 pages passport booklet with 10 years of validity 

• Normal Passport: ₹2000
• Tatkal Passport: ₹4000

For Indians under 8 years or over 60 years you will get a 10% discount on passport fees:

• 60-page booklet: Rs 1,800 (originally Rs 2,000)

You can apply for your Indian passport online, but it is not completely online.

• You can start your application online and fill out all the forms.
• But, to complete the process of applying passport, you still need to visit a passport office. In the PSK, they will verify your documents and take your biometrics.

The basic steps are that you have to:

• Login on the Passport Seva online portal and apply for Fresh Passport
• Fill in the details and then submit the documents.
• Pay the fee and schedule an appointment.
• Now, on the day of the appointment visit the passport office.

Online Passport Apply Registration Procedure

• Go to the Passport Seva website–

• Click New User to proceed further with passport how to apply steps.  Register Now

• Now fill out the form to create an account on the Passport Seva website. You need to select the passport office of the city you’re living in currently, not your native place.
• Also, make sure that you enter the name exactly as it appears in your other documents to avoid any problems with your application. The rest of the form is pretty straightforward – it’s just like signing up for any other website.

• 5.Click Register when done.Now that you’ve created your account, return to the Passport Seva website.Enter your registered Login Id, password and the characters in the image. Click Login.

• Click on “Apply for Fresh Passport/Reissue of Passport”.
• Now you have to choose between Fresh/Reissue >  Normal or Tatkal  > and number of pages (38 or 60). Click “Next”.

• Then click “Submit Application”.

Point to note: While filling out the form you may come across the term “Is applicant eligible for Non ECR Category?” In this, you have to select yes, if you have completed your 10th graduation and you have certifications.

After Submitting

• Go to “View Saved/Submitted Applications”.
• Select your application and click “Pay and Schedule Appointment”.

Pay fees and Book appointment for online passport apply

• Choose “Online Payment” and click “Next”.
• Select your preferred Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) and an available appointment slot.
• Click Pay and Book Appointment.
• Now you will redirected to a page – Appointment Confirmation with all the details of your appointment at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).
• Complete the online payment.
• Print the Appointment Confirmation receipt
• In next page you will see a detailed view of the application – again, click on Print Application Receipt.
•  Now, preview of the receipt will appear. Again, click Print Application Receipt to finally take a printout of the appointment confirmation.

Bring this receipt and your original documents to the PSK at the time of appointment along with original documents. You will get your passport after police verification is complete.
