RTO Andhra Pradesh
There are 31 RTOs in Andhra Pradesh apart from District Transport Offices, Commissioner’s office, Motor Vehicles Inspector Offices, Check posts. AP RTOs were established in accordance with Section 213, Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 and the Andhra Motor Vehicles Taxation Act of 1963. AP RTOs along with the other road institutions was established with the goal of “ensuring safe, secure, pollution-free road transport in Andhra Pradesh.” The RTO AP are headed by Transport Commissioner who is the Head of the Transport Department of Andhra Pradesh. It open from 10 am to 5.30 pm from Monday till Saturday.

Functions of AP RTO
According to the Citizen’s Charter of Transport Department , AP RTOs aim to provide citizens with friendly, transparent and fast services for vehicles. The following list elaborates the key roles of AP RTOs:-

Fees charged by AP RTOs for their services
New Registration Certificate and its renewal
- Motor Cycle – Rs. 300
- Invalid Carriage – Rs. 50
- Others:
- Light Motor Vehicles and Three Wheelers – Rs. 600
- Heavy goods/passenger vehicle – Rs. 1500
- Medium passenger/goods vehicle – Rs. 1000
- Imported motor vehicle (2/3 wheelers) – Rs. 2500
- Imported motor vehicle (4 or more wheelers) – Rs. 5000
- Vehicle not mentioned in this list: Rs. 3000
Trade Certificate
- Motor Cycle – Rs. 300
- Invalid Carriage – Rs. 300
