Documents required for vehicle ownership transfer

• Original RC
•  2 nos. of duly filled & signed Form no.29
•  2 nos. of duly filled & signed Form no.30
•  Copy of valid insurance
•  Valid pollution under control certificatecopy
•  Address proof copy of buyer (voter card/ passport/ telephone (BSNL/MTNL) /electricity bill/Adhar /Govt Bank account)

However, to transfer the ownership of a commercial vehicle following documents are required in addition to the above:

• Permit surrender slips from S.T.A.
• Challan clearance
• Tax clearance proof
• Fitness certificate copy

Transfer of vehicle ownership in case of death of the registered owner of the vehicle

In such cases, the legal heir or successor can file the application with the following documents:

• Original registration certificate of the vehicle
• Affidavit by the applicant
• Death certificate of the registered owner in original
• For 30 and 31 (in duplicate with an endorsement of the financier if it is purchased on hire agreement along with NOC from the financier)
• Address proof, self-attested
• Self-attested copy of Vehicle insurance
• Form 20, vehicle verification
• PUC Certificate, self-attested
