The Government of Rajasthan has launched dedicated civil registration web portal called Pehchan Raj. Through this platform, you can apply for birth certificate online. You can download the birth certificate directly from the portal or, you can even complete the process without visiting nagar palika, gram panchayat, or municipality office.

How to apply for online birth certificate Rajasthan

If you want to apply for birth certificate in Rajasthan online, follow these steps:

Go to the official Pehchan Rajasthan website.
Click on Service and then click on Apply for Registration.
Select Birth Registration
Enter the child’s birth details (date, time, and place) and the parents’ details (name, Aadhaar, and address).
Enter the captcha code and click Submit. You will receive reference number to track your application.

How to apply for birth certificate in Rajasthan offline

Visit local authority
- Village: Gram Panchayat (Registrar: Gram Sevak/Secretary)
- City: Municipal Corporation / Nagar Palika / Nagar Parishad
Request the Birth Report Form or download from Pehchan portal
Enter the child’s and parents’ details and submit the form to the Registrar at the same office.
The Registrar will verify the details and register the birth. Collect acknowledgement slip
Check progress with Registrar. You can collect the physical certificate from the office or download online after 7–10 days

Documents required for birth certificate Rajasthan

You must have following documents if you want to apply for birth certificate in Rajasthan:

Discharge Certificate from the government or private hospital/nursing home where the child was born.
A valid proof of identity of the child’s parents (anyone will do: aadhar card, voter ID card, ration card, etc.)
Proof of address of the child’s parents (optional)
Certificate of marriage of the child’s parents (optional)
A few passport-size photographs (optional)

Who can register the birth in Rajasthan

As per the act of registration of births of 1969:

Government hospital births: If child is born in government hospital in Rajasthan, the medical officer is responsible for registering the birth. This must be done within 21 days.
Private hospital or nursing home births: If birth takes place in private hospital or nursing home, the hospital head or administrator handles the registration. This can be done within one year.
Home births: If the child is born at home, the head of the family must inform the local municipal health office or gram panchayat.

Birth Certificate Download Rajasthan

Here are the steps to download birth certificate in Rajasthan:

Visit Rajasthan Government’s web portal.
Click on the “Download Certificate” option.
On the next page, choose how you want to search: by date of birth, mobile number or registration number.
If using your mobile number, select the “Mobile Number”.
Enter your mobile number and click “Search”.
Your birth certificate will appear on the screen. You can download it to your device and print it later.

Make sure you have already completed online application for the birth certificate. Only after successful registration can you download the certificate. This process is available only through the Rajasthan Government’s civil registration portal.
