If you are applying for a Netherlands visa from India, you need to book a Netherlands visa appointment to submit the application form. You cannot just walk into the embassy or consulate or its visa application centers to apply for a Netherlands visa. Netherlands visa types

There are two types of Netherlands visas available for Indians on the basis of stay duration i.e. Schengen visa and long stay visa (MVV). Indians have to submit Netherlands visa application and documents by booking a Netherlands visa appointment first.

How to book Netherlands visa appointment?

You can book a Netherlands Visa appointment in two ways:-

  1. You can book an appointment for Schengen Visa at VFS Global Visa application Centres in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai or New Delhi. 
  2. Apply for MVV in two ways:-
    1. Through a host who stays in Netherlands (employer, friend, relative, or educational institution). You can apply with this method if your travel purpose is study, training, work, employment, family reunification, residing with spouse.
    2. Netherlands Embassy in New Delhi and Netherlands Consulates in India. You can apply with this method if you are an investor, entrepreneur, foreign investor or highly skilled migrant seeking employment in Netherlands. 

Netherlands Schengen visa appointment 

The steps to book a Schengen visa appointment are given below:-

  1. Go to VFS Global.
  2. Create an account and Login with your email id and password.
  3. Choose your VFS VAC.
  4. Choose an appointment date and time as per your schedule.
  5. Take a print out of the visa form.
  6. Go to the VFS VAC on the day of appointment with documents, visa form, receipt.
  7. On the day of the appointment, you have to submit your documents for verification and give your biometrics too.
  8. Wait for visa approval. You will be notified through mail and by the VFS VAC.

Netherlands Visa appointment for Long stay visa

You can apply for a MVV in two ways:

Visa appointment with the Netherlands Embassy/Consulate-General are given below:-

  1.  Visit to Netherlands Appointment (vfsvisaonline.com).
  2. Click on “Schedule Appointment”.
  3. Select your choice of place from the drop-down list where you would like to submit your documents. Click on “Next”.
  4. Select the number of applicants and choose the type of visa you need from the list. Click on Next.
  5. Fill up the applicant details and select the “I confirm the statement” from the drop-down list. Click on Continue.
  6. Choose your desired date and time from the calendar.
  7. Choose the time from the list.
  8. You will be given an acknowledgment page. Take a print out of the same. Note the Reference Number and other instructions given in the page.
  9. Go to the Embassy/Consulate-General on the day of the appointment with the visa form, documents, fees and print out of the appointment letter.
  10. On the day of the appointment, you have to submit your documents for verification and give your biometrics too. The consular officials may ask a few questions about your travel purpose. 
  11. Thereafter, wait for visa approval. You will be notified through call or mail by the Embassy.

Through a host in Netherlands
