Uttar Pradesh Vehicle Registration Details

Here’s everything you need to know about vehicle registration in UP RTO (RTO Uttar Pradesh) – from temporary to permanent registration and renewal process.

Temporary Vehicle Registration in UP RTO

You can get a temporary registration from the registering authority. It is valid for up to one month and cannot be extended.

  • The process takes around 3 working days.
  • The vehicle must be ready for inspection.

Permanent Vehicle Registration in UP RTO

To register a private vehicle permanently in RTO Uttar Pradesh, you need to:

  • Fill and submit Form 20 to the Transport Department or RTO Office UP (downloadable online or available at the RTO).
  • Submit required documents:
    • Sales certificate from dealer
    • Manufacturer’s roadworthiness certificate
    • Insurance copy
    • Address proof
    • Chassis number imprint
    • One-time road tax receipt
    • Registration fee

After vehicle inspection by the authority, a permanent registration number will be assigned.

Renewal of Vehicle Registration in UP

If you’re buying a second-hand vehicle, always check the RC book and verify all vehicle details.
To renew the registration:

  • Submit Form 25 to the RTO Office UP within 60 days before expiry of the current registration.

Procedure for renewal of Uttar Pradesh vehicle registration details

Here is the procedure for renewal of RC in UP RTO (RTO Uttar Pradesh)

  • First, you have to visit the parivahan official website open this website and select menu to online service, open drop down menu and select vehicle related services option.
  • Now select state from drop down menu. Then select state redirect vahan parivahan website.
  • Open new page and on the left side, select the stare and RTO. Click on proceed.
  • Select menu to RC related service. Click on ‘Renewal of Registration’.
  • Enter the registration number and chassis number. Now click on validation registration number/ chassis number button.
  • Now, select your registration number and next process is to fill the form and pay fees for renewal application fees.
  • Submit application successfully and then you will get renewal of vehicle registration certificate (RC) of vehicle.
