What is a Virtual Court
Virtual court is an online platform where pending traffic challans are handled digitally. You don’t need to visit any court physically. If your e challan remains unpaid for few days, it is forwarded to the virtual court system.
Virtual Court platform manage your traffic fines. You can view the challan using any of the challan number, CNR number, or registered mobile number. You can view your case or any other issue in the v courts portal.
How to check virtual court challan in UP
If you have received a challan and haven’t paid yet, the challan is shown in pending section in virtual court. Following are the steps to check virtual court challan in UP:
- Visit the Virtual Court Portal
- Choose “Uttar Pradesh” from the list
- Search using:
- Challan Number
- Vehicle Number (e.g., UP32AB1234)
- Party Name
- CNR (Case Number)
- Submit to view the details
It will show in virtual court whether the e challans is “Pending” or “Disposed.” If it’s pending, you can pay it.
How to pay e challan virtual court in UP
Following are the steps to pay your virtual court challan online:
- Visit the Virtual Court Website
- Click on “Settle Your Case Online on Virtual Courts.”
- From the list, choose your UP traffic department
- Click on the “Proceed Now” button
- You can search using any one of the following:
- Vehicle Number
- Challan Number (from SMS or paper challan)
- Party Name
- Registered Mobile Number
- Choose and click “Submit.”
- View your challan with following information:
- Challan number
- Vehicle number
- Violation details
- Fine amount
- Date and time of offense
- Payment status
- Select the pending challan
- Click on “Pay Now”
- Choose a payment method
- Complete the payment
- Download or save the payment receipt
What if the Challan isn’t in virtual court
In some cases, you might see this message:
“The challan is not sent to virtual court because payment initiated. So challan will be disposed in the mentioned regular court.”
It means your challan is already in the payment process. So instead of going to the virtual court in UP, it stays under the normal court system and will be handled there. You should still keep checking the payment status and updates on the official site.
