AP e challan

AP e challan is levied by Andhra Pradesh Traffic Police. You can pay the AP e-challan within 15 days after it has been issued. If you don’t pay your AP e-challan in 15 days then you will have to pay a late fee. The late fee amount differs from one district to another. Please remember that if you do not pay your AP challan for a longer time then you can face strict punishments like going to jail. The maximum deadline for paying AP e challan is 60 days. How to pay AP e-challan

You can pay AP e challan by Andhra e challan website, AP e challan app, some online online payment platforms like  Paytm and mobikwik. Each of the procedures is listed below:-

Using the AP e-Challan Website

  1. Visit  E-Challan for AP (apechallan.org)
  2. Enter your Vehicle Number and the Captcha.
  3. Select the challan you want to pay from the list of issued e-challans and choose your payment gateway.
  4. Proceed with the payment after going through the challan details.
  5. After successfully paying your challan, you will receive your transaction ID and confirmation via mail and SMS.

Using the AP e-Challan App

  1. Open the AP e challan app after downloading it from Google Playstore. AP eChallan – Apps on Google Play
  2. Create an account using Gmail or Facebook, mobile number and remember your password by clicking on “Sign up”
  3. Log in using your account credentials.
  4. Search your Challan using RC/DL number/ Challan ID. You can also scan the QR code of the challan receipt for paying it on the road.
  5. Select the challan you want to pay from the list of issued e challans and choose your payment gateway.
  6. Proceed with the payment after going through the challan details.
  7. You will receive confirmation and transaction ID on the app itself.

Using Paytm

  1. Open the Paytm app on your smartphone. Give all the required permissions for the app to function.
  2. Go to “Recharge & Bills payments” menu and select “View More”.
  3. Scroll and select the “Challan” option under the “Transit” category.
  4. Choose “Traffic Authority” as “Andhra Traffic Police”.
  5. Provide the mandatory information such as the vehicle number, Challan number/ Challan ID.
  6. Click on “Proceed” to view the Challan amount.
  7. Pay online by using your preferred mode of payment.
  8. You will receive confirmation and transaction ID in the paytm app itself.

Using Mobikwik

  • Open the Mobikwik app on your smartphone
  • Go to “Recharge & Bill Pay” menu and select “More”.
  • Scroll and select “Challan” option.
  • Choose “Operator” as “Andhra Traffic Police”.
  • Provide the mandatory information such as the RC, DL number or Challan number/ Challan ID.
  • Click on “Proceed” to view the Challan amount.
  • Pay online by using your preferred mode of payment.
  • You will receive confirmation and transaction ID in the Mobikwik app itself.

Traffic Violations and Penalties by AP Traffic Police

Some common traffic violations and their subsequent penalties are listed below:-

Driving without helmet Rs. 100 and the subsequent offence fine is Rs. 300/-
Driving not following traffic signs Rs. 100 and the subsequent offence fine is Rs. 300/-
Drunk driving First offence is 6 months or Rs.2000/- or both

Second or subsequent offence committed within 3 years of the previous commission is 2 years of Rs.3000/- or both

Driving dangerously First offence is 6 months or Rs.1000/- or both
Driving an uninsured vehicle 3 months or Rs.1000/- or both
Escaping after an accident and not providing information to the police First offence is 3 months or Rs.500/- or both Subsequent offence is 6 months or Rs.1000/-
Driving a vehicle with a false registration mark or proper registration of vehicle First offence fine is up to Rs.5000/- (not being less than Rs.2000/-)

Driving without permit First offence fine is  up to Rs.5000/- (not being less than Rs.2000/-),

Second or subsequent offence up to one year, (not being less than 3 months) fine is up to Rs.10,000/- (not being less than Rs.5000/-)

Driving a vehicle which doesn’t have PUC First offence fine is Rs.1000/-

Registering a Complaint for Incorrect AP e-Challans

It is rare to get penalized for a wrong AP e challan. If such a case happens, report your complaint at Andhra Traffic Police’s website E-Challan for AP (apechallan.org). Just click on the Complaints tab on the top-left side of the webpage. Then, select the Complaint type as “Wrong Challan”. Enter your Vehicle Number, Mobile Number, Challan Id, Email ID and then Click on “Submit”. You can also register complaints on the same website for “Fake Number Plates” and “Payment Issues” regarding AP e challan.
