RTO Ahmedabad

The Regional Transport Office Ahmedabad was created under section 213 (1) of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 for enforcing the allied acts, the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, and all the rules formed under that regime. The RTO Ahmedabad is considered one of the chief administrative blocks of Gujarat because it caters to a huge quantity of requests on a regular basis. Services Offered at RTO Ahmedabad  

Keeping the fundamental view of implementing various transport provisions under the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988 in mind, the RTO office Ahmedabad offers systematic transport facilities across the entire city. Given below are the services provided by the RTO Ahmedabad:

1. Driving License and Permit Services
    1. Motorcycles with an engine capacity of up to 50cc (MCWoG): This special licence is issued to applicants of 16 years of age or above who have the consent of their parents or legal guardians and can submit all the required valid documents.
    2. Motorcycles with gear (MCWG): This licence is issued to the applicants who are 18 years of age or above for riding bikes of any engine capacity with gears, and can submit all the valid required documents.
    3. Two-wheelers without gear (MCWOG): It is for mopeds or two-wheelers that don’t have gears.
    4. LMVs: This licence is issued to the drivers of light motor vehicles like autos, cars, jeeps, vans, etc, applicable for both personal and commercial purposes.
    5. Heavy commercial vehicle: Applicant must be 18 years of age or above and 8th standard qualified with valid driving training certificate from a registered school under state government to qualify for this licence.
    6. Driving Licence for road rollers, trailers, dozers, cranes, and similar other vehicles.
    7. Transport Vehicle (TRV): Applicants must be 18 years of age or above and 8th standard qualified with a valid driving training certificate to avail this licence.
                2. Vehicle Registration Services
    1. Temporary Vehicle Registration: this is issued by the vehicle dealer at the sale of any new vehicle to an individual with a validity of 7 days. The maximum period for validity is one month. 
    2. Permanent Vehicle Registration: You must register  the purchased vehicle within the above mentioned time period by the RTO in the concerned area of the owner/customer to receive the Permanent Vehicle Registration.
                  3. Document Issuance and Renewal
  1. Collection of revenue for the government like service fees and road tax.
  2. Inspecting vehicles at check posts.
  3. Environment-friendly upgradation through PUC testing and CNG or LPG conversion.
  4. Enforcing new road safety rules and regulations.
