As of now, Indian citizens need Serbia visa from India to enter the country. Serbia visa for Indian passport holders is generally required. Exception: If you have a valid Schengen, UK, or US visa, or a residence permit from these regions, you can enter Serbia visa-free for up to 90 days. For stays longer than 90 days, you must apply for a Serbia long-stay visa (Visa D) at the Serbian Embassy. Serbia visa for Indian nationals allows entry only to Serbia only, not other countries

Types of  Serbia Visa for Indians

Short Stay Visa or Visa C

This visa allows entry, transit, or stay in Serbia for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. It is issued for various purposes:

Long Stay Visa or Visa D

A Visa D, also known as a Long Stay Visa, is granted when you intend to stay in or enter Serbia for a period ranging from 90 to 180 days. Visa D is valid for 180 days. You can apply for Serbian E-Visa for Visa D. Please note that if you entered visa free in Serbia, you will definitely a Visa D for your extended stay. If you have a Visa on arrival, a Visa D can be issued easily too. The long-stay visa is issued for:

  1. Study purposes.
  2. Family reunion purposes.
  3. Work purposes.
  4. Humanitarian or religious activities’ purpose. 

Serbia Transit Visa

Transit Visa is issued if you have the entry visa for the country you are visiting after Serbia.  A Serbian transit visa authorizes the person to travel a third country from Serbia for up to five days stay period and can be issued for multiple transits. 

Note:

You might not need Serbian visa if you already have:

  • A valid visa from:
    • Schengen countries (most of Europe)
    • The United Kingdom
    • The United States of America
  • OR valid residence permit from:
    • Schengen countries
    • The United Kingdom
    • The United States of America

Serbia visa requirements for Indian citizens

Here is a list of the travel documents that you will need to submit along with your Serbian visa application form for Indian citizens:-

  1. A valid passport that must be valid for at least 6 months with 3 blank pages. The Indian passport holder’s passport cannot be valid for more than 10 years. If you have an old passport, it must also be submitted.
  2. A completed Serbian visa application form
  3. 2 colored Passport size pictures. The size must be 3.5 x 4.5 cm.
  4. Flight ticket to Serbia with a return ticket to India.
  5. Health insurance for the entirety of the stay in Serbia; the minimum amount cannot be less than Euro 20,000 (Rs 1633819).
  6. Banks statements for the last 3 months if you are employed by a company. 
  7. Proof of leave from that company for the duration of your stay in Serbia with the company seal of approval.
  8. Salary slips for the last 3 months.
  9. Evidence of sufficient funds or bank statements must show that you have at least Euro 50 (Rs. 4083) per day for the entirety of your stay in Serbia.
  10. You need to provide company bank statements for the past 6 months that have been stamped by the bank with an official seal.
  11. You will need your company income tax returns for the last 3 years.

For:

  • Private visit – Invitation letter certified by relevant Serbian authority 
  • Business visit – Invitation letter by a Serbian company. If you have a business, evidence of registration with the Indian Registration License/MOA/Partnership deed.
  • Tourism trip – Proof of payment for the trip issued by a travel agency (voucher or any other type of payment receipt)

You might be denied entry if:

  • Your travel document isn’t valid or you don’t have the required visa.
  • You don’t have enough money.
  • You’re in transit but can’t enter your next destination.
  • You have a current ban from Serbia.
  • You don’t have required health documents from affected areas.
  • It’s a risk to public order or safety.
  • You have a serious criminal record.
  • There’s doubt about the real reason for your visit.

Border officers might ask for:

  • Tourist voucher (notarized).
  • Certified invitation letter.
  • Return flight ticket.
  • Proof of hotel booking or private address.
  • Proof of paid health insurance (€20,000 minimum).
