Before you start New Zealand Tourist Visa application, collect required documents and check all requirements. Here are general documents required for New Zealand Tourist Visa from India:
- Valid Passport with validity of a minimum of 6 months with at least 3 blank visa pages.
- Completed filled NZ visa application form.(No applicable for online submission)
- Two passport size photographs for paper application and one photo for online submission
- You must show enough funds for stay in New Zealand. This includes bank statements for last 6 months, Income tax returns for last 3 years.
- You must show at least NZD 1000 per month for stay in New Zealand, or NZD 400 per month with accomodation. The proof may be proof of accommodation details, financial documents like bank or credit card statements, travellers’ cheques and so on.
- Return /onward travel tickets as proof of genuine visitors
- Travel itinerary
- Health certificate:Proof of good health, such as a medical examination and/or a chest xray (if required).
- Character certificate: Police certificate in order to verify the applicants good character needs to be submitted (if required).
- Documents that show you will return to India after trip
If the applicant is retired:
- Pension statement for the previous 6 months.
- Proof of regular income received from property or rent for the last 6 months (if any).
- Minor Applicant
If minor travels with one parent – Written consent from other parent or guardian. Consent must be certified by public notary, unless traveling parent has sole custody.
If minor travels alone – Written consent from parents or guardians certified by public notary & Copies of parents’ passport or identity proof must be submitted.
Application form for minors – Parents or legal guardians must come with minor to sign application form, except when minor is visiting parent in New Zealand.
Note-
- Married applicants who cannot provide evidence of marital status in the passport must submit a marriage certificate. If applicable, a copy of the ration card can also be submitted.

- Photo should be colour and in portrait style.
- It should be recent not older than 6 months
- Visa photo size should be 35 mm wide * 45 mm height for offline application and for online application – 900 × 1200 pixels to 2250 × 3000 pixels

- Use plain, light colour background
- Your face should cover about 80% of photo
- Look straight at camera and keep face centered
- Keep neutral expression with eyes open, mouth closed and ears visible
- Head covering or eyewear is not allowed, except for medical or religious reasons
- If you wear prescription glasses, there should be no glare or red eye, and eyes must be clearly visible
