How to Reschedule Tatkal Passport Appointment

You can reschedule tatkal passport appointment by following these steps.

Step 1: Visit the passport seva portal

1. Go to the official passport seva website
2. Click on “Existing User Login”.
3. Log in using your registered User ID and Password

Step 2: Find your specific ARN in the Saved/Submitted applications list

1. Click on “View Saved/Submitted Applications.”
2. Click on “Schedule Appointment.”
   • If your appointment is already booked, this option may appear as “Reschedule Appointment.”
3. The system will show a message displaying how many reschedules you have left.
   • Check that you still have one reschedule attempt available.
4. Click on “Reschedule Appointment.”

Step 3: Choose new slot

1. Select your preferred PSK or POPSK from the list.
2. Make sure that the Appointment Quota is set to “Tatkaal.”
3. Calendar will appear showing available Tatkal dates (green dates indicate availability)
4. Choose the date and time slot that suits you best.

Step 4: Confirm and print the new appointment

1. Click “Book Appointment” to confirm the new slot. Your previous appointment will be automatically cancelled.
2. Appointment Confirmation page will display your new appointment details.
3. Click “Print Application Receipt” to download or print your new confirmation.

Carry this new printed receipt along with your original documents when you visit the Passport Seva Kendra on the rescheduled date.

What happens if you miss tatkal passport appointment

• If you don’t reach the PSK on your scheduled date and time, your appointment is marked as a No Show in the system. When that happens, Reschedule button usually won’t appear instantly. If you missed your slot today, you need to wait until the next morning for system to update status before you can book new time slot.
• In many cases, your application is no longer considered active, and you may have to start the process again.
• You get only one chance to reschedule your appointment. If you miss your first slot, you can still use this option to book a new date.
• Both the passport fee and Tatkal charges are non-refundable.
• If you also miss the rescheduled appointment, you will need to fill new application form, pay the full fees again, and book a new appointment from scratch.
