Ownership transfer of vehicle Faridabad

RC transfer in Faridabad is not online completely . Application can be filled online. Fees can be paid online . However physical submission of application forms and supporting documents is required at Faridabad RTO.

Following are the steps for RC transfer in Faridabad : 

• Visit the official website of parivahan
• Select ‘Vehicle related Services’
• Select ‘State’ and input the ‘RTO number’, then click ‘Proceed’
• Select ‘Apply for Transfer of Ownership, Change of Address, Hypothecation [Addition/Continuation/Termination], Duplicate RC)’
• Enter your vehicle details as a Vehicle Registration No. and the last five characters of chassis number
• Fill up the application detail carefully
• Deposit Requisite RTO fees online
• Take print of form 29, form 30 & RTO fees receipt
• Submit signed application forms along with supporting documents to the concerned RTO.
• Application will be scrutanized and processed
• You will get new RC in the name of buyer after one month

Yes, PAN card is mandatory for both the buyer and seller for car RC transfer process. It is to comply with the financial tracking regulations. If either of seller or buyer doesnt have PAN card, they can fill up the form 60 in lieu of PAN card.

RC not transferring after sell/ buy is an offence as per motor vehicle act. The application for ownership transfer of vehicle should be submitted in the RTO within 30 days from the date of sell/ purchase. Seller may be held responsible for any crime, challan related to that vehicle. So, its in the interest of seller to process RC transfer in the RTO immediately after the sell of vehicle.

If the buyer intentionally doesn't  proceed to RC transfer in his name, seller can give written complain to the concerned RTO. RTO in such case blacklist that vehicle. Seller by doing so becomes liability free from any offence occurred in the future.   

Local address proof is mandatory for RC transfer in Faridabad.

The documents which are acceptable as address proof for RC transfer are :

• Aadhar card
• Passport
• Voter Id card
• Electricity bill
• Telephone bill
• Water bill

Local NOC is not required for RC transfer of bike within Haryana. Transferring  ownership in Faridabad of two wheeler vehicle from different district of Haryana can have two possible scenarios :

• No loan on the bike - Application for bike RC transfer can be submitted in Faridabad RTO.
• Loan on the bike - When there is hypothecation on the bike in that case HP termination can be done in the parent RTO only. So, first application for HP termination should be submitted in the parent RTO. Once HP termination is done, after that application for RC transfer documents can be submitted in the Faridabad RTO where buyer lives.

Normal practice is that buyer pays for cost of RC transfer process. If there are any liabilities such as pending traffic Challan, outstanding road tax , it should be paid by the seller. Since selling or buying vehicle is a commercial transaction , it depends on the mutual understaning while negotiating the price.   It is in the interest of seller to make sure that buyer completes ownership transfer process at the earliest as any untoward incident can cause trouble for the seller.

Original RC is required for RC transfer in Faridabad. Digilocker RC is not valid for vehicle ownership transfer.

For RC transfer valid insurance is required. It can be either in the name of seller or buyer , doesn't matter. However if you buy it in the name of seller later you will have to apply for insurance transfer in your name . Also if insurance is in the name of seller, you will not get claim for insurance in case of accident. So to avoid these complications its advisable to buy insurance in the name of new owner.

Unfortunately there is no procedure defined for RC transfer of BH registration number plate vehicles in the RTO. So its advisable not to buy a car which is having BH registration number plate.

A vehicle in India can be transferred any number of times, as long as each ownership transfer is properly done at the Regional Transport Office (RTO). As per motor vehicle act, there is no legal limit to how many times a vehicle can change hands.

Vehicle inspection at RTO is not required, if its Intra-state  vehicle ownership transfer. However, if its inter-state ownership transfer then inspection of vehicle at RTO is mandatory during re-registration process. 

As per Motor Vehicles Act, a vehicle RC transfer within the same state must be reported to the RTO within 14 days of the sale. If you have brought a vehicle to Faridabad from another state, you should submit documents to the RTO within 45 days from the issue date of vehicle NOC form the parent RTO. There is penalty for late submission of the papers to the RTO. 

Yes, its mandatory to transfer vehicle's insurance policy within 14 days from the date of transfer of vehicle. You wont be able to claim insurance in case of accident or damage if you don't have insurance in your name.
