RTO Ranchi comes under transport department of Jharkhand. DTO Ranchi is responsible for traffic regulations, Road tax collection, issue of Driving liecnce,vehicle registration and other associated works such as transfer of ownership,HP addition/termination, NOC etc. in Ranchi district of Jharkhand. To manage the administrative works in Ranchi there is one district transport office i.e. DTO Ranchi (JH01).
RTO Ranchi performs different tasks or activities required to ensure safe and appropriate transport on the road. RTO Ranchi is primarily responsible for the enforcement of the rules and regulations in road transport in the Ranchi region.

What is the process of re-registration of a car/bike shifted to Ranchi from Delhi ?
For re-registration of a car to RTO Ranchi from Delhi, submit an NOC from Delhi and apply for the re-registration proces along with documents like original RC, address proofs, Id proofs etc.
Is physical inspection of vehicle carried out for re registration after 15 years ?
Yes, you have to bring your vehicle to the RTO office where vehicle inspection in terms of its fitness to drive on the road takes place.
When can we get temporary registration in Ranchi?
If the vehicle owner wants to take his vehicle to another state, then only a temporary registration certificate is issued.

No basic structure of any vehicle is allowed to change except engine modified as per fuel type.
In how many days is it required to transfer ownership of vehicle in case of dealh of vehicle registered owner ?
Application should be submitted by Succession/Survival member with in 30 days of dealth otherwise 100 Rs per month will be charges as penalty.
