Documents required for RC transfer within the same state 

 A) I agree to the sale by a notary public 

 As a general rule, you need two forms when selling a vehicle. These are forms 29 and 30. Of these two forms, only two copies of Form 29 and one copy of Form 30 need to be submitted to the nearest RTO. 

 If external funding is obtained from a lender, Form 35 must also be submitted with a non-controversial letter from the lender. In addition, if you want to transfer your car RC at auction, you will need Form 32. 

 You will also need the following documents required for RC transfer in order to complete the RC transfer of your car, bike, or any vehicle: 

Documents provided by the seller: 

 The following document should be provided by the seller for the RC transfer:

  1. original RC of the vehicle
  2. Insurance policy of the vehicle 
  3. Customs clearance certificate
  4. A photocopy of the PUC certificate 
  5. Road tax-related documents from the RTO
  6. photocopy of relevant delivery note of the vehicle
  7. Owner`s manual of the vehicle which is being sold
  8. All documents related to warranty
  9. History of Service 
  10. A copy of the original invoice of the vehicle

Re-Registration of Vehicle after 15 Years

 Documents kept by the seller: 

Here are the list documents required for RC transfer. Following documents should a seller keep with himself for the RC transfer of the vehicle:

  1. You have signed a  sales contract
  2. Proof of KYC document and address
  3. demand draft copy.

 If you are selling a car or bike or any vehicle, you must also keep the following documents with you, at least until the vehicle is fully transferred to the new owner. After that, it’s a good idea to keep folders for all of the following documents for the future: 

  1. copies of insurance policy and original RC document.
  2. A copy of Form 29 and Form 30
  3. A  photocopy of Form 28 should also be retained if a security clearance is available.
  4. Tax-related documents for the vehicle in question from the responsible RTO. 

B) Documents for Ownership Transfer :

 Buyers must show the following documents to their local RTO to complete their transfer process of vehicle registration. 

  1. 2 photocopies of Form 29. 
  2. Notice of transfer of ownership. 
  3. A copy of genuine R.C. 
  4. Photocopy of valid car insurance.
  5. A copy of PUC. 
  6. Proof of address. 
  7. photocopy of PAN card.  
  8. Original Clearance Certificate. 
  9. Copy of a passport-sized photograph.  A self-addressed envelope with Rs.30`s worth of stamps affixed (Only for offline).

 C) Documents for applying for Customs Certificate (CC): 

If you are a first-time buyer, the following documents required for RC transfer. New buyers are required to present the following documents to the RTO where the vehicle was originally registered when applying for  CC for a newly purchased vehicle. 

  1. CC  request letter. 
  2. A copy of the genuine R.C. 
  3. original insurance document.
  4. Copy of PUC.  
  5. A self-addressed envelope that has stamps worth Rs.30 affixed on them. This is used by the RTO to send the CC (This envelope must be attached only if you are applying offline for the RC transfer). 

Documents Required for Inter-State Car RC Transfer

For the transferring RC from one state to another, there are some documents that you should have so, there is a list of the documents required for RC transfer that one should have when transferring interstate car or bike RC transfer

 The first thing you need to follow for a NOC from the RTO office, accompanied through the utility to the new RTO wherein you’re shifting your car. Additionally, you have to report for money back of road tax for the reason that you need to pay those taxes once more at some stage in the re-registration method. 

 Documents Required for NOC from RTO

You must present the following documents when obtaining a NOC from your local RTO office where your vehicle is registered. For the transfer process. 

  1.  Forms 27 and 28.
  2. Existing registration certificates, tax files, insurance policy, and PUC.
  3. Original chassis imprint.
  4. Copies of CMV Form 28.
  5. NOC from the local police station (optional)

 Documents Required in New RTO for Re-registration

You need for following documents required for RC transfer for the re-register in the new RTO of your car or bike or any vehicle:

  1. Copy of original RC.
  2. Copy of coverage of your car.
  3. NOC was obtained out of your previous RTO.
  4. Form 29 and 30 for re-registration.
  5. PUC certificates.
  6. Photo identification proof.
  7. Address proof
  8. A self-addressed envelope with stamps well worth Rs.30 (a requirement for offline transfers).

Documents which can be Necessary to File for a Refund of Road Taxes

This is for saving the money that you have paid for the road taxes. For this you file a refund for the road tax for the following documents are required:

  1. Application for refund of street tax.
  2. Self-attested RTO Form 16.
  3. Copy of latest RC (new registration variety is important).
  4. Copy of the previous RC 
  5. Insurance policy files and certificates with the brand new registration number of the vehicle.
  6. Photo identification and address proof.
