Types of Norway Visa for Indians
There are different types of Norway visa for Indians. It depends on the reason why you are going and how long you are planning to stay in Norway.
- Schengen Visa: You can apply for a Schengen Visa if you’re visiting Norway for tourism, business, or family reasons. Schengen Norway visa for Indians allows a stay of 90 days. It has a validity of 180 days.
There are two types of Norway Schengen Visa
- Norway Tourist Visa
- Norway Business Visa
- Long Stay Visa (National D Visa): Long Stay visa is also known as National Visa or National D Visa. The visa allows you to stay in Norway for more than 90 days. It’s mostly for students who want to study in Norway, people who have a job there or anyone planning to live in Norway for a long time.
- Airport Transit Visa: You need an Airport Transit Visa, if you are going to another country but have layover at Norway airport.

- Make a new account and activate it via email.
- Begin a new application and select ‘Visitor’s visa’ to get Norway tourist visa

- Proof of paid income tax (for 3 Years)

- Establishment license or proprietorship with GST number
3. For Students:
- Enrollment proof

- NOC from school
- University students: Bank statements for the last 3 months
4. For retired person:
- Retirement proof
- Pension statements of last 3 months
- Proof of regular income by property ownership or business.
5. For Sponsored visa:
- Letter of sponsorship with passport copy of sponsor
- Sponsor’s last 3 months bank statement
- if sponsor is your spouse: marriage certificate
- if sponsor is your parents: birth certificate
6. For Minor :
- Notary affidavit with the consent of the parents(if travelling alone or with single parent)

Standard Norway Visa processing time is up to 15 days from the date of visiting Norway visa application center. But it can be extended up to 45 days if your Norway travel visa has been sent to the Directorate of Immigration (UDI).

Here you have to enter the application reference number (found on the receipt) and your last name. The screen will then display your Norway visa application status.

Just collect your passport yourself. Please ensure you bring the receipt issued to you on the day of your appointment, during the collection of your passport.
The documents or passport of the applicant will not be handed over to third parties, except if the following people go to collect it:
- Immediate family members such as parents, children or spouse of the applicant.
- A person collecting the passport on behalf of Government officials, if so mentioned on the Government letterhead.
