In today’s time, the government has arranged a well- defined system for registration of births in which the parents of the child can apply for Birth Certificate UP in both online and offline methods. In this article, we are going to discuss both the methods in detail.

Online Birth Certificate UP

An individual has to complete the registration procedure for obtaining the birth certificate UP online. You can obtain online birth certificate in UP through two ways as given below:

Citizen Service Centre (CSC)

Citizen Service Centres are the authorized cyber centers that perform the task of the Nagar Nigam Operator. Their work is to assist the citizens to fill the registration form based on the information which is provided by them.  The operators are provided with all the guidelines and forms which are necessary to perform the birth certificate task. After submitting the application form, an individual will receive an SMS to the mobile number (which would be mentioned in the application form). The people of CSC maintain separate account to collect the payment from the citizens. They will submit this payment to the Nagar Nigam.

It is important to note that an individual can collect the birth certificate from the CSC or from the Site or Nagar Nigam Service Centre once the certificate is available on the site.

  1. Click on “Citizen Services” and select “Citizen Login”.
  2. Click on “Proceed to Citizen Login”.
  3.  Enter your mobile number and password if you have already registered or else click on new Registration.
  4. Fill in all the details correctly and click on “Submit”.
  5. On new user registration, the individual will receive a login Id and password on the registered mobile number via SMS.
  6. Again, go on the home screen. Login and click on the birth certificate which is available on the dashboard screen to apply.

It is important to note that if you find the online procedure difficult or at some local level online facility is not available, then you can also choose the offline method also for application procedure in UP.

Offline application for Birth Certificate UP

Here is the procedure to register for the birth certificate through the offline mode:

Through hospital from where the child was born

The hospital operator from where the child was born would fill the registration form depending on the information presented by the individual. When the applicant will submit the application form along with required documents, he/ she will receive an SMS to the mobile number.

Using Nagar Nigam Service Centre

The applicant who is applying for a birth certificate UP has to visit the Nagar Nigam Service Centre with all the required documents.

Here, the Nagar Nigam operator would be filling the application form based on the information provided by the applicant. When the applicant will submit the application form along with required documents, he/ she will receive an SMS to the mobile number.

It is mandatory to attach the necessary documents along with the Birth certificate UP application form. The list of documents is as follows:

Following documents are required to obtain a birth certificate UP:

  • Identity proof of the informer (Aadhar card, ration card, voter Id, etc)
  • Hospital birth proof (in case of child is born in hospital)
  • Proof of the birth(letter from the informer if child is born outside of the hospital)
  • Affidavit
  • First class magistrate approval certificate

Government fees for birth certificate UP

According to the Registration of Birth and Death Act, 1969 Act:

Registration of Births reported to the local bodies within 21 days from the date of Occurrence of birth.

Registration of births reported to the authority after 21 days but within 30 days from the occurrence of birth. Rs.2
Registration of births reported to the registrar after 30 days but within 1 year from the occurrence of birth (Permission letter from the Additional Health Officer also to be submitted) Rs.5
Registration of births that are not registered within 1 year from the date of occurrence of birth required an order from the Deputy District Magistrate. Rs.10

      You can approach Nagar nigam office or the panchayat where birth took place . You can get birth certificate. In case record is not available, you can apply for NABC
