Serbia Visa for Indians

The Balkan city allows Indians to enter the country visa-free for a period of 30 days if you are vaccinated and Covid-Negative. Serbia introduced this system for visa for Indian passport holders since 30th September 2017.  If you need to stay for a longer period of time, you will need to obtain  a Serbia Visa for Indians.

You can also apply for Serbian E-Visa if you plan to reside or stay for longer duration. You cannot visit the neighboring countries or other European nations by virtue of visa free entry of Indian nationals in Serbia. 

Eligibility Criteria Required for Indians to Qualify for a Serbian visa

To qualify for a Serbian visa, keep these requirements in mind:

  1. Make sure to provide all the necessary documents and pay the fees.
  2. Have a valid reason for your visit and be a genuine traveler.
  3. Show that you have enough money to cover your stay in Serbia.
  4. Demonstrate your plan to go back to your home country.
  5. Maintain a clean criminal record and good health.

Types of  Serbia Visa for Indians

The types of Serbian Visa for Indians you can opt for will depend on how long will you stay there and the purpose of your travel. The following are basically three kinds of Serbian Visa:-

  • Visa on Arrival

Indians Passport holders can obtain visa on arrival after they land in Serbia if they meet the following requirements as given in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advisory. This Visa is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

  • Short Stay Visa or Visa C

Visa C or Short stay visa will allow you to stay and travel in Serbia for 90 days with multiple entries within one year. Visa C is valid for 1 year from the date of issue. It’s important to note that with a Serbian Visa C, you cannot stay in Serbia for more than 90 days within a 6-month period starting from your initial entry. Serbian Visa C is typically issued for the following purposes:-

  1. Touristic Visa- Visa for tourism 
  2.  Business Visa- Visa for Business-related purposes. 
  3. Serbia Family, Relative or Friend Visit Visa- The visa is granted if you need to visit friend or family in Serbia. 
  4.  Cultural, Sports or Conference Visit Visa- Visa for attending cultural or sports events in Serbia
  5. Short-Term Education or Internship Visa- Visa for students who intended to stud in Serbia
  • Long Stay Visa or Visa D

A Visa D, also known as a Long Stay Visa, is granted when you intend to stay in or enter Serbia for a period ranging from 90 to 180 days. Visa D is valid for 180 days. You can apply for Serbian E-Visa for Visa D. Please note that if you entered visa free in Serbia, you will definitely a Visa D for your extended stay. If you have a Visa on arrival, a Visa D can be issued easily too. The long-stay visa is issued for:

  1. Study purposes.
  2. Family reunion purposes.
  3. Work purposes.
  4. Humanitarian or religious activities’ purpose. 
  • Serbia Transit Visa

Transit Visa is issued if you have the entry visa for the country you are visiting after Serbia.  A Serbian transit visa authorizes the person to travel a third country from Serbia for up to five days stay period and can be issued for multiple transits. 

On the 30th of October 2014, the Government of Serbia approved the decision to allow free visa entry if:

  • Having a Schengen visa.
  • You have a visa of the UK, US, and other Member states.
  • Have a residence permit from the countries of Schengen, the UK, and the US.

Serbia visa requirements for Indian citizens

Here is a list of the travel documents that you will need to submit along with your Serbian visa application form for Indian citizens:-

  1. A valid passport that must be valid for at least 6 months with 3 blank pages. The Indian passport holder’s passport cannot be valid for more than 10 years. If you have an old passport, it must also be submitted.
  2. A completed Serbian visa application form
  3. 2 colored Passport size pictures. The size must be 3.5 x 4.5 cm.
  4. Flight ticket to Serbia with a return ticket to India.
  5. Health insurance for the entirety of the stay in Serbia; the minimum amount cannot be less than Euro 20,000 (Rs 1633819).
  6. Banks statements for the last 3 months if you are employed by a company. 
  7. Proof of leave from that company for the duration of your stay in Serbia with the company seal of approval.
  8. Salary slips for the last 3 months.
  9. Evidence of sufficient funds or bank statements must show that you have at least Euro 50 (Rs. 4083) per day for the entirety of your stay in Serbia.
  10. You need to provide company bank statements for the past 6 months that have been stamped by the bank with an official seal.
  11. You will need your company income tax returns for the last 3 years.

For:

  • Private visit – Invitation letter certified by a relevant Serbian authority 
  • Business visit – Invitation letter by a Serbian company. If you have a business, evidence of registration with the Indian Registration License/MOA/Partnership deed.
  • Tourism trip – Proof of payment for the trip issued by a travel agency (voucher or any other type of payment receipt)

How to apply for a Serbia Visa from India?

  3. Submit all the relevant documents and the filled-in and signed Serbian Visa application form.
  4. Pay the necessary fees and wait for the interview call.
  5. Show up for the interview and confirm your purpose of stay and the documents.
  6. After processing time, the Embassy will review and process your Serbian visa, and they will call you back to receive your Serbian Visa.

Serbian Visa Fees for Indians

The fees for a Serbia visa for Indians are as follows:

  1. Visa C application: The fee is 60 Euros (Rs. 4899), with an additional 2 Euros (Rs. 164) sticker fee once your visa is approved.
  2. Visa D application: The fee is 30 Euros (Rs. 4250), with an additional 2 Euros (Rs. 164) sticker fee once your visa is approved.
  3. For children up to 6 years old, the visa sticker fee is only Rs. 200 (2 Euros).
