Documents Required for Non-ECR passport 

Here are the documents required for Non ECR passport. The list of Non ECR passport documents are as follows:

All diplomatic/official passport holders 

 No separate documents required for non ECR passport other than the diplomatic passport.  

All Ghazetted government officials, their spouses, and their dependents. 

1. For civil servants 

Documents required for Non ECR passport for civil servants:

1. Identification card under Annex A, or
2. Customs clearance under Annex G, or
3. Advance notice under Annex H (PI)

 2.For the spouse of a civil servant 

Documents required for Non ECR passport for the spouse of a civil servant

1. Identification according to Annex A, or 
2. A certified copy of the marriage certificate issued by the Registrar 

3.Dependents of  government officials 

Documents required for Non ECR passport for the dependents of government officials are as follow:

1. Identification card based on Annex A, or 
2. Birth certificate issued by city authorities or civil registration authority authorized to issue the birth certificate  or 
3. High school graduation certificate / Secondary School Diploma / Certificate of Applicant’s Latest School or Accredited School Diploma of Applicant’s Latest School or Other Accredited Educational Institution or,

1.  All professional degree holders, their spouses, and dependent children. Examples of professional qualification holders include doctors, certified journalists, engineers, accountants, expense calculators, instructors, teachers, scientists, and lawyers who have an MBBS degree or equivalent  in AYURVED or HOMEOPATHY. 
2. If you are a spouse, you must provide a certified copy of the  marriage certificate issued by the relevant certificate 

•   Registry. You will need to enter your spouse’s name  in the applicant’s passport for confirmation.

3. For dependent children, relevant certificate  

• Authorized to issue a birth certificate by the registry office, or

• The last school  the applicant or  other accredited educational institution attended. Birth certificate issued by city authorities or other offices. 

Anyone who has lived abroad for more than 3 years (the period of 3 years may be continuous or interrupted) and their spouse

1. A copy of the passport (first  including ECR / Non ECR page and observation page) 2 pages and the last 2 pages (if any) created by the passport issuing agency) 
2. If you are a spouse, you must enter the spouse’s name in the other person’s passport. 
3. Applicants must submit a written statement detailing all dates of entry and exit into India and present their passports for confirmation. (Format: Sl. No, end date. Information about the port of departure, the page number of the stamped passport, and the corresponding entry. The last column should show the number of days spent outside India. This should be at least 3 years (1095 days).
