I am selling my car which is registered in Tardeo RTO to one of my relative. The loan on the car is continuing. Will I have to close the loan first?
A vehicle cannot be sold if the loan is still active. It is mandatory to close the loan first, then only transfer of ownership can be done.
My bike is registered in Thane RTO. Right now I am in Bangalore. How will I get my RC back after hypothecation removal from RTO?
In Mumbai, the RC is delivered by post to the address mentioned on the RC book. Though the visit of the registered owner to the RTO is not mandatory for hypothecation removal, someone should be available at the registered address to receive the RC.
Can I change the address in my Driving Licence while applying for renewal?
Yes, you can apply for change of address while submitting the application for driving licence renewal. You must select the appropriate RTO and pay additional fees for the address change.
How many days will it take to get driving licence in Mumbai?
It takes around 1 week to get a learning licence in Mumbai. After 30 days from the date of issue of the learning licence, one can apply for a permanent licence. Once the permanent driving test is completed, the licence is usually issued within 1 week. Overall, the complete process takes around 45 days.

The validity of a Learning Licence (LL) in Mumbai is 6 months from the date of issue. One can apply for a permanent licence after 30 days from the issue date. If the LL expires, there is also a provision for renewal.
