You can download aadhar card online from UIDAI website. Aadhar card download by name and date of birth is one of the popular way.

E-aadhar is a type of valid aadhar card introduced by UIDAI. It can be downloaded and stored in smartphones, laptops or any kind of electronic gadget as such. It is easy to access and handy. You can download an e-Aadhaar any many times as you want. even if your e-Aadhar card is misplaced, deleted, or forgotten in your phone or laptop. You can show your e-Aadhar in all government institutions, trains, hotels, airports, and so on for identity verification. You can thus save time, energy, and the hassle of carrying a PVC Aadhar card or Aadhar letter everywhere. 

Your e-Aadhar is now at your fingertips. Even if you forget/misplace your aadhar letter, e-aadhar is your valid ID proof. It can’t be tampered with since it’s a soft copy. It  is usually downloaded in PDF format. You can’t obtain any other form of Aadhar except e-Aadhar in soft copy. It is password protected, and the password is mentioned on the UIDAI website itself.

Aadhar card download procedure

You can download your e-Aadhar from UIDAI’s website, Digi locker's website, the mAadhar app or Digilocker app.

UIDAI’s website

  1. Visit (uidai.gov.in)
  2. Click on the “Download Aadhar” option.
  3. Enter your registered mobile number with aadhar and your aadhar number. You can also download the aadhar with your 28-digit enrolment number/16-digit Virtual ID/Aadhar card number along with your full name and pin code. 
  4. Enter the Captcha also and then, Click on “Send OTP”. 
  5. You can choose to opt for masked e-aadhar now by clicking on the checkbox “Do you want masked aadhar?” 
  6. Click on “Verify and Download” after entering the OTP you have received on your phone. 
  7. Your e-aadhar will be downloaded in pdf format.

mAaadhar app

  1. Download the mAadhar app from the Google Play store or Apple Store. Click on “Get Started” after opening the mAadhar app,. Then click on “I consent” to agree to all terms and conditions. Thereafter, choose the language and then click on “Continue”.
  2. You have to enter your mobile number and enter the OTP to register yourself on the app.
  3. Under the “All Services” dashboard, click on the “Download Aadhar” option.
  4. Choose your Preference of whether you want “Masked aadhar” or “Regular aadhar”.
  5. Select whether you want to download your e-aadhar by using “Aadhar Number”/ “Virtual ID”/ “Enrolment ID”. 
  6. Enter Aadhar Card Number/VID/EID and the security code. Then, click on “Request OTP”.
  7. Click on “Verify” after entering the OTP you have received on your phone. 
  8. You can download the e-aadhar now by clicking on “Open”
  9. Open the document with the password mentioned in the “Important note” before you download the e-aadhar.

Digilocker website

  1. Visit www.digilocker.gov.in.
  2. Sign in using your Aadhar card number/Username and the password. If you don’t have a Digilocker account, create an account by clicking on “Sign up”. Enter your name, mobile number, aadhar number, Email ID and a password of your choice. Click on “Submit”. You will receive an OTP on the mobile number you just entered. Enter the OTP and you are ready to use your Digilocker account.
  3. After you sign in using your credentials, enter the OTP sent on your mobile number. Click on “Submit” to access your Digilocker account. You can also access your account using aadhar OTP. Aadhar OTP is a temporary code sent to your aadhar registered mobile number. 
  4. In the top-left-hand corner, click on “Search documents” if you don’t find aadhar card option in the opening page. Then type “aadhar” and select “Aadhar card” option.
  5. Accept the terms and conditions by clicking on the tickbox. Then, click on “Submit”.
  6. Enter your aadhar card number, security code and other details. Then, click on “Submit”.
  7. E-aadhar will be downloaded in your “Issued Documents” dashboard. You can download it also. 
  8. Click on “Home” and click on your picture in the top-left-hand corner. Click the red “Log out” button.
