The password to open any PAN acknowledgement document form after submitting your PAN reprint, allocation, or corrected application is your date of birth or the date of incorporation as mentioned in your PAN application. The format is DDMMYYYY, where DD is the date; MM is the month of the year; YYYY is the year.
Q3. How to regenerate my already-started PAN application on the UTIITSL website for PAN correction?
You may begin filling out your PAN application online but lose it for a variety of reasons, such as a power outage, a dead battery, an accidental logout, and so on, in your phone or laptop. Rest assured, you can regenerate the PAN application form online for reprint, corrections, and new PAN requests on the UTIITSL website. You need the Application Number/Reference Number provided at the beginning of the application. A pop-up message is displayed with the reference number.

Q4. How to check the online payment status for PAN correction in NSDL post login?
You can regenerate and download the payment receipt within 30 days of the online application submission if you have paid the PAN application fees via Credit/Debit cards, UPI or Net Banking. You can check the status of your PAN application through the Transaction ID received after successful payment. You can even change the mode of payment to DD or Cheque if the payment status is unsuccessful. You need to visit PAN CARD Change Mode (nsdl.com) and type in your Transaction ID/Acknowledgement number along with other details to check the status.
Q5. What is the procedure for an e-PAN update?
You can update by submitting a PAN correction/change application at NSDL/UTIITSL website. You can pay the fees online too. You can also visit any PAN centre/ TIN Facilitation Centre for updating your e-PAN details. The update procedure of e-PAN is same as the normal process of updating a PAN card. Once the PAN number is allotted, you can update it anywhere and anytime at Income Tax approved websites or PAN centres.
Q6. How to cancel/surrender my PAN card on the NSDL website?
If you have been allotted 2-3 PAN numbers inadvertently, you can cancel them while filling up your PAN application at the NSDL website. Just mention your other PAN numbers which you don’t use in item 11 of the PAN card change application form. You need to submit a copy of the particular PAN for cancellation/surrender. You can check the status of your PAN card cancellation at Status Track search for PAN/TAN (nsdl.com).
Q7. Who can apply for a new PAN card on behalf of minors, lunatics, mentally-ill persons, wards of courts, deceased?
According to Section 160 of the Income Tax Act of 1961, a non-resident, a minor, a lunatic, an idiot, and court of wards and other such persons may be represented through a Representative Assessee. In such cases, any type of application for PAN will be made by the Representative Assessee.
Q8. What is DSC based mode of submission for a PAN application?
DSC stands for Digital Signature Certificate which is issued by any authorized Certifying Authority (CA) in India. DSC is a valid and easy proof for authentication while doing business on the Internet. They are somewhat like Aadhar VIDs. Q9. How to find out your AO code?
AO code stands for Assessing Officer Code. These codes can be obtained from Income Tax Office where you submit your Income Tax returns. Indians who have never filed IT Returns may find out the AO code at IT PAN Service Center /TIN Facilitation Center/ Jurisdictional Income Tax Office.
Q10. Do PAN fees for different services vary for online applications in websites and PAN centres?
No. All PAN centres charge the same fees as websites for all types of online PAN applications.

Q12. What are TIN and TAN?
There are many unique numbers like PAN which are used for tax purposes. They are as follows: -
TAN stands for Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number. TAN is a unique 10-digit number that is issued to individuals and entities who have to collect or deduct tax on payments made as part of tax Deducted at Source (TDS) under the IT Act. TAN has to be used while applying for TDS or Tax Collected at Source (TCS) challans made to transfer the refund as well as on certificates. If you don’t quote the TAN, you will be fined Rs. 10, 000.
TIN stands for Taxpayer Identification Number. TIN is a unique 11-digit number that is used to identify dealers who are registered under Value Added Tax. TIN is allotted by respective states and all manufacturers, traders and dealers must register for a TIN. This number has to be used while generating invoices, orders or quotations by both the issuing as well as the receiving organization. It is also used to identify Assesses under the IT Act of 1961.
Q13. Is there any tatkal facility for new PAN card applications?
No. There is no tatkal facility to apply for a new PAN card application or PAN card reprint/correction application.
Q14. Do I need to apply for a new PAN if I change my city or state?
No, you don’t need to apply for a new PAN card. PAN number once allotted by Income Tax Department is valid for a lifetime. You can submit a PAN card correction application and update your PAN database with your latest address.
