Aadhaar Card

Baal Aadhaar

Baal aadhaar

Baal Aadhaar is issued for children aged 0-5 years. It is a blue-coloured Aadhaar letter. The letter asks the Aadhaar holder (Parents) to update the baal Aadhaar details with biometrics when their child attains the age of five. If they don’t do so,it will be deactivated and rendered invalid.  Blue colour has been introduced to distinguish the baal Aadhaar for children from the Aadhaar card of adults.

While making baal aadhaar, the Aadhaar card is linked with the parent’s Aadhaar card. The card doesn’t require the child’s biometrics. It acts as the same proof of identity as normal Aadhaar cards for adults whether in physical or electronic form. You just need to submit the demographic and personal details of your baby to make a baal aadhar. You need to update biometrics twice: at 5 years of age and 15 years of age. Both biometrics should match otherwise the Aadhaar data has to be updated again. Biometrics collections mean taking fingerprint impressions scan, iris scan, photo and signature of the individual.

You need not visit the same Aadhaar seva Kendra for updating biometrics.
